Most people probably already have a recipe for marinara, but I really like the one I have and thought I would share it. It’s a little more expensive because it gets its flavor from a great assortment of veggies but that also makes it a one pot kind of meal. So that ups the easiness factor for me.

1 chopped onion

1 chopped bell pepper

1/2 lb sliced mushrooms

4 cloves minced garlic

28 oz can whole tomatoes

16 oz can tomato sauce

1 Tbls. basil, oregano, sugar each

1 tsp. thyme, rosemary, salt

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, pepper

Saute the onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms until soft. Add garlic and cook 1 minute. Add seasonings and salt and pepper to taste.  Add tomatoes and sauce and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover loosely and simmer on low for 1 to 2 hours. Delicious.
