Dinner Recipe- Cheapest Tacos

If you have never tried lentils before you owe it to yourself to give them a shot. They are great legumes because unlike beans they require a lot less cooking time. They are very good for you and this is a nice introduction to lentils. 

3/4 cup dried lentils

3/4 cup white or brown rice

4 cups water

4 tsp. beef boillion or 4 cubes

2 tsp. chili powder

1 tsp. onion powder

1 tsp. cumin

1/4 tsp. garlic powder

Put water in a pot and place on stove. Turn on medium high and add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and reduce to low. Put a lid on the pot and let it simmer for 40- 45 minutes. The water will be absorbed, but the mixture should still be nice and moist.

Now, you can serve this in tortillas like tacos or more like chili.
